PF Chang's Review

PF Chang’s is one of the few major chain restaurants with a great gluten-free reputation that I have not been to. With no time like the present, I maximized my next to last day in Maryland until next August by paying my local PF Chang’s a visit for lunch with mom to break up a long, hard day of sorting, packing, and final exams.  Described as a “China bistro,” the […]

Good Life Smoothie Bar Review (Annapolis, MD)

Please note that Good Life Smoothie Bar has now closed.  While in Annapolis, in between duel visits to Amsterdam Falafelshop, the summer-like heat of the day lead me to crave something cold and sweet.  Knowing the risk of cross contamination of both gluten and dairy at several chain smoothie and coffee shops, I decided to indulge in a freshly made smoothie at Good Life Smoothie Bar, a neighbor to the falafel […]

Amsterdam Falafelshop Annapolis Review

Amsterdam Falafelshop has closed their Annapolis location. They still operate restaurants in DC.  Annapolis is a beautiful, quaint bayside city that is the seat of Maryland’s government and the perfect distance away from Baltimore for a nice weekend trip.  In town for a special event, I made sure to take advantage of a whole day in town to check out the sights and tastes of the city. What’s cool about […]

Lebanese Taverna Review

With the exception of a super busy spring break, my foodie scouting has been cut short this semester due to winter weather, fighting sickness, and working my way though not the easiest of courseloads. Needing a true “Sunday funday” before the final push to the end of the semester, I took advantage of a a absolutely beautiful Sunday to momentarily flee my scholarly duties and get a bit of foodie […]

Verde Pizza Review

Back in my beloved Baltimore for the remainder of the spring semester, returning from spring break was a rude awakening. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t parting though my week-long break, but the abundance of awesome food and indulgence in Netflix I enjoyed all through the break came to a sudden end as I shifted back into school mode, and began to prepare for papers, midterms, and the daily challenges of being […]

Zoe's Kitchen Review

My trip to Charlotte, NC for the Gluten-Free and Allergen-Free Event was a jam-packed 48 hour period filled with a whole lot of gluten-free food, one horrible glutening, and having to change hotels mid-day on the day of the event.  Never one to let trip ups and slip ups get me down, my mom, sister, and I sought out a fun, low-key way to end our last night together before […]

Towson Tavern Review

The salmon salad was, first and foremost, a salad. The majority of the space was taken up by beautiful, fresh lettuce which was topped with red onion and a nicely portioned piece of grilled salmon. Seasoned minimally, yet efficiently, the fish was fresh and had a nice flavor. Topped with a tarragon vinaigrette that pulled all of the flavors together, the salad was simple, yet delicious.  The hearty lentil soup, smokey and seasoned, featured […]

Pizza Studio Review

Us gluten-free folks have all too often become accustomed to super expensive, sub-par pizza options when dining out. Usually these cardboard-like imitations of the pizza pies we once enjoyed without worry are watery, gummy, undercooked, and/or too flimsy to support toppings of any substance. Throw in a dairy intolerance, and your options are even more limited as pesto, cheeses, and other pizza toppings are dangerous landmines of potential cross contamination. Always on the lookout […]

7 West Bistro Review (w/ Order Up Towson)

Immediately after placing my order, a woman from 7 West called me to let me know that my original order (chicken souvlakia with stewed green beans and roasted potatoes) would have to be modified because the stewed green beans are no longer 100% gluten-free. I’m glad this was caught before the order proceeded, but was disconcerted that they are presented as a gluten-free option. Hopefully this will be corrected in […]
